Wildlife
Many different species of large game animals, predators and birds inhabit the Salmon River Mountains around Indian Creek Guest Ranch. Mule deer, whitetail deer, elk, black bear, bighorn sheep, moose, red fox, coyotes, marmots, mink, river otter, golden eagles, bald eagles, osprey, blue herons, and a multitude of song birds and migratory waterfowl are some of the wildlife commonly viewed.
The area also supports cougar, bobcat, wolves, mountain goat, pine martin, fishers, beaver, peregrine falcon and other nocturnal species that are less commonly seen. We offer an early morning drive down the Salmon River specifically for viewing wildlife and for photo opportunities. Our natural history room contains specimens and collections of wildlife related artifacts for those wishing to learn more about wildlife of the area.
